This is a book was written by me when I realized that this was truly a fascinating story to be told. I was born in New York City and as I grew up my curiosity about the family history increased as my father seemed to be hiding something about his ancestors from his children.

I started by researching in newspapers and on the Web to see what I could find. As it turns out there was plenty there to be dusted off.
